Hey Ledgestone fans! The largest, most anticipated drop of the year is here. It’s so big that we’re simply calling it “The Drop.”
For Wave 5 we have some of the sickest, most awe-inspiring molds and designs you’ve ever seen. From Discraft’s swirliest run ever produced, to the St Jude Greek Coin McBeth collection, to the return of the Grateful Buzzz, this drop has anything and everything you’ve ever wanted.
As our best drop yet, it’s also our largest. To help you wade through all the amazing options, we’ve analyzed each disc to tell you how it flies, what it looks like, and what makes it special so you can be prepared when the discs go live at www.shopledgestone.com on August 4th.
To start, we’ve separated the discs into classes: Putt & Approach, Midrange, Fairway Driver, Distance Driver and Charity Set. In this blog we’ll highlight the Wave 5 charity sets so you can understand the uniqueness and beauty of these molds while supporting the honorable mission of the St Jude Children's Hospital.
St Jude Clear Set - This set of five discs contains Paul McBeth’s entire lineup in clear, CryZtal/Z plastic with a special edition Greek coin stamp featuring each disc’s Greek-inspired namesake: Luna, Malta, Anax, Hades and Zeus. The Luna and Zeus contain a side-profile of the deity’s head in classic Greek dress. The Anax features the same head side-profile, but with the figure wearing a traditional Trojan war helmet. The Hades displays a side profile of a skull to represent the god of the underworld, while the Malta features an owl perched sideways on a branch, with its head turned to look at the viewer.
Each mold’s crystal clear plastic gives the discs a glass-like appearance. Because of the overstability of CryZtal/Z, each mold tends to be more overstable than its standard plastic run. 100% of the proceeds will go to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
St Jude Midnight Set - This set of two discs includes both a Midnight Z Luna and a Midnight Z Fierce. This set is in its third year and includes two special-edition runs from the lineups of Discraft’s two most prominent athletes. The set will be entirely black, giving a sleek and semi-translucent appearance to each disc. Both discs feature their star’s logo in gold foil with an array of mini signatures within the lettering. The Luna shows a large, golden-outlined “PM” filled with 12 diagonal rows of tiny Paul McBeth signatures. On the Fierce, Paige Pierce’s stacked “PP” logo is filled with 10 tiny rows of her autograph. Expect these discs to fly like standard Z runs. 100% of the proceeds will go to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
