MPO Round 1 Recap

MPO Round 1 Recap

Who is leading MPO at the 2023 Ledgestone Open?

Tied 1st - Calvin Heimburg at 12-under par

Tied 1st - Ezra Robinson at 12-under par

Tied 3rd - Chris Dickerson at 11-under par

Tied 3rd - James Proctor at 11-under par

Quote from the leader: “I was a little shaky off the tee to start the round,” Robinson said. “I was able to get the nerves under control and I just rolled with it. The last sanctioned round I played was 960-rated, so that’s what I’m coming off of.”

Game-changing moment: Robinson canned a putt from just outside Circle 1 on hole 10 to kick off his back nine. That putt lit a fire under him and he went on to bullseye four of the next six holes, part of an 8-birdie run that shot him to the top of the leaderboard.

Summary of MPO Round 1: Sunshine and low winds at Lake Eureka made for prime scoring conditions. With early tee times, Cole Redalen and Adam Hammes set a hot pace at 10-under par before the feature cards had even teed off. But scores continued to heat up even further. Garett Everson matched the 10-under par pace while Chris Dickerson, James Proctor, Calvin Heimburg, and Robinson all surpassed it.
