FPO Round 2 Recap

Who is leading FPO at the 2023 Ledgestone Open after Round 2?

Tied 1st - Missy Gannon at 7-under par

Tied 1st - Ella Hansen at 7-under par

Tied 1st - Ohn Scoggins at 7-under par

Quote from the leader: “Luckily I held the lead coming in so I didn’t feel as much pressure to get the birdies, but it’s a course where people are inevitably going to shred,” Gannon said. “I need to at least try for a bunch of them. My 5-under feels a little lackluster. I had a slowish start, a good stretch in that middle third, and then kind of cooled off at the end. Tomorrow I’m just trying to cruise, trying to attack and birdie every hole.”

Game-changing moment: Scoggins and Hansen played aggressively from the start, sinking at least three birdies each in their first five holes. Gannon only found birdie once over that same stretch. After throwing out-of-bounds on her hole 4 tee shot, Gannon needed to recover quickly. She delivered with a par save from Circle 2 and another par save from the edge of Circle 1 on hole 5. This was all Gannon needed to find a groove as she went on to birdie the next four holes.

Summary of Round 2: A hot start from Hansen allowed her to tie Gannon at the top of the leaderboard after hole 10. But the two leaders traded OB strokes and bogeys for the next three holes allowing a window of opportunity for both Sarah Hokom and Scoggins to climb back into the picture. Hokom’s 1-bogey round brought her within one stroke of the top, and Scoggins’ birdies on holes 16 and 17 helped her tie for the lead.
