$80,000 AM Payout Announced

The Ledgestone tournament staff is excited to announce the projected AM payout for the 2017 event, sponsored by Discraft. See the full projected payout page.

This year's event features a massive AM payout that is $20,000 higher than last year. This payout assumes a full field of players and could change based on various division levels. The tournament is also excited to announce that Discraft will be providing even more options this year in the AM payout as they will be bringing down their full arsenal of merchandise, discs and other items for players to choose from. They will be more involved in the payout this year, with Plastic Addicts assisting Discraft. Players will be able to redeem their payout in person at the event Sunday afternoon or online at the Discraft Factory Store after the tournament.

"This years AM payout is sure to catch the eyes of all amateur players. Its hard not to notice the first place prize in Men's Advanced of $1300," says Heinold. While the rest of the divisions will have a flatter payout that is more commonly seen on the Amateur side, the Men's Advanced division will utilize a payout structure that more closely resembles a professional payout structure. Most divisions will see 45% to 50% of players being paid, with the exception being the Women's divisions. "We are trying to do whatever we can to get more women involved in disc golf. For that reason we decided to pay most of the Women's field on the amateur side," said Heinold. In looking at the projected payout, 22 of the 28 spots will be paid in FA1, FA2 and FA3. The AM payout continues to be unprecedented in disc golf. While a lot of tournaments are going to player pack only on the AM side, Ledgestone seems to be going the other way. "I guess we haven't gotten the memo about eliminating payout for AM players. We will keep doing what we are doing to support the AM players who love coming back to our event," said Heinold. Registration is open now for any AM player who sponsors a hole, and opens March 8th for the rest of the AM players. Registration is available exclusively at disc golf scene.
