Who shot the hot round in Round 2 of the 2022 Ledgestone Insurance Open in FPO?
Paige Pierce shot the hot score in Round 2 with a 9-under-par.
Quote from the leader: “I was leaning on my Thrashers and that's what led to a lot of success today," Gannon said. "The turning point in the round was definitely parking hole 12. It's a downhill hole and a touchy shot and I absolutely parked it. That lit a fire under me."
"Tomorrow I just need to have a cleaner start. I went birdie, bogey, birdie, bogey. I was working extra hard out there in the beginning."
Game-changing moment: Kristin Tattar arrived at the tee of hole 13 at 11-under-par and two strokes clear of Missy Gannon. The 280-foot tee shot got the best of Tattar and the leader threw out-of-bounds to record a bogey. Meanwhile, Gannon landed well inside Circle 1 on her drive, cashed the putt and promptly tied Tattar. From there, Gannon springboarded into first place on the next hole and didn't look back.
Standout Stat: After a grueling first round at Northwood Black where the field averaged 4.38-over-par, Sunset Hills gave the players a chance to relax and attack for some birdies. On the day, the entire FPO field averaged under par.
Highlight of the Day: Holyn Handley was bouncing in and out of the top 10 early on after an even par start through five holes. Then on the 712-foot par 5 that is hole 6, Handley crushed a drive, giving her the option to attack a 330-foot approach over the pond. Her second shot soared in on a hyzer and smashed the basket for an albatross. Handley rode that momentum up to seventh place with a 5-under-par.
