Who is leading the 2021 Ledgestone Insurance Open?
Tied 1st – Ricky Wysocki and Drew Gibson at 11-under par
Tied 3rd – Paul McBeth, Chris Dickerson and Cole Redalen at 10-under par
Game-changing moment: It was more like a series of moments for Cole Redalen. The budding young star from Oregon birdied seven of his first nine holes, announcing himself as a contender from the get-go with the hottest start in the MPO field.
Standout Stat: Every player in the MPO field found at least one bogey - all except two players that is. Paul McBeth and Drew Gibson were the only ones in the field of 166 to shoot a clean round. To no surprise, they find themselves on the lead card heading to Northwood Black for Round Two.
Highlights of the Day: After birdieing three straight holes and falling slightly off the pace, Zach Arlinghaus stepped up to the 275-foot Hole 7 at Eureka Temp looking to get his round rolling again. He would proceed to smash an ace (the only one of the day).
But Arlinghaus didn’t have the only eagle on Day One. Calvin Heimburg set the tone early on in his 9-under par opening round by cashing in from 311 feet on Hole 2 to make eagle.
