The Athena is a straight to stable fairway driver and is the 6th disc in Paul McBeth's signature lineup. The Athena has been described by McBeth as a slower Anax. The Athena is a 7-speed driver with a Discraft stability rating of 1.7. This is the first release of the Athena in UV Z plastic which changes color in sunlight. Great disc, weak UV

I have lots of Athenas already, as it's a staple in my bag. I love UV color changing discs, so when I saw the Athena releasing one I was all over it. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed to see that the color change in direct sunlight is almost unnoticeable. It changes from white to about a 2% pink. This hasn't been my experience with other UV discs in the past, which is why I was dissapointed when I saw this one. Great disc! Not so great UV change. Worth noting tho, maybe mine was a one-off fluke?

Great disc, it’s awesome how well the plastic does in fact change colors. I will say that they are more understable than I expected but I love them all the same. Instantly in my bag already.
